Christmas Music Ideas for Spotify & Amazon Prime

 

It’s almost Christmas!  By this time of the month, I’m on the hunt for some new Christmas listens. {The only album I never tire is Oak Ridge Boys Christmas.  Listening to the record of it is one of my earliest Christmas memories.}  New-to-me songs or new-to-me renditions, I don’t care.  I just need something new by this time!  So below are a few of my favorite playlists for Spotify, Amazon & YouTube.

Amazon Prime Music

50 Great Christmas Songs is a great mix of all the traditional Christmas songs made up of a nice mixture of new voices & the old ones you already know.

A Christmas Together–John Denver & The Muppets takes me back to my childhood.  John Denver + Christmas just go together for me.  Add in the Muppets and I’m seven years old trying to shake my Christmas presents all over again.

Indie music isn’t something I drift to very often but I have been enjoying this playlist, Indie for the Holidays.  My favorite song on the playlist is Silent Night by Wild Child.

Mannheim Steamroller & Trans-Siberian Orchestra are always wonderful.  I love curling up with a book, a cup of something warm and one of these going in the background.

Today’s Christmas Music is one of my teenager’s favorite playlists.

If you’re a big fan of older Christmas songs, Christmas Past is a great option.  After John Denver, Christmas music of the ’40s is synonymous to Christmas for me.

A cocktail party is about the last thing I’d ever host (my style is margaritas + non-fancy appetizers!) but this Christmas Cocktail Party playlist has been dinnertime music for us the last couple weeks.

Now to Spotify lists….

Island Christmas pays homage to our years stationed in Hawai’i.  I’ll be Home for Christmas makes a few appearances (it’s one of my favorites), some non-Christmas Hawaiian music, a little Jimmy Buffett and some Hawaiian Christmas songs round it out.  White Christmas by Jim Kimo West may be my favorite song on this playlist.

Acoustic Christmas will introduce you to songs you’ve likely never heard, like Postcards from Catalonia and More Than Christmas.  This peaceful playlist is the perfect antidote to a busy day of shopping.

If you like your Christmas music with a little more pep to it, Christmas Pop is the list for you. Featuring artists like Ariana Grande, Britney Spears, and Sia, you’ll be dancing before long.

Classical Christmas is an instrumental playlist of traditional Christmas songs that is perfect for our homeschool days.  We almost always have instrumental music playing during school & this list is a favorite.

Not to be confused with the above Classical Christmas, Christmas Classics is just the traditional Christmas songs in their original form — Bing Crosby, Frank Sinatra, Carpenters, Andy Williams, John Lennon.

Fellow Disney fan?  Close your eyes, turn this list on and you’ll be walking through the parks on a warm Florida (or California) night surrounded by Disney Christmas magic.
