30+ Days of LEGO Fun for the Upcoming Summer Games

One of the things we personally missed the most last year was the Summer Olympics. I love catching bits of it all day and tuning the TV to it every night. The world records, the heartache. I’m a total Olympics ball of mush!

Two of my most popular posts (and homeschool activities for my own kids!) are for my Christmas LEGO challenge cards & my post with challenge cards for the Winter Games 2018. So with the Summer Games on the horizon, I knew we’d need a new set of cards.

Recently, I had gone another direction with our challenges in our home and, rather than giving my kiddos an item to create, I gave them a word {light, vast, etc.} and let their minds soar.  They LOVED this twist on our traditional challenges.  And I love seeing how differently, just with my two boys, they interpret the same word.

I wanted to incorporate this with our traditional cards, too, so I created both sets.  My boys are having fun with them already!   {We’ll do a more proper Summer Games study in April & May and do the full challenge cards pack then.}

For durability’s sake (and for the sake of reusing them), I like to print the cards & then laminate them.  I’ve tried “just being careful” with challenge cards in the past…and it hasn’t ended well!

What are Lego challenge cards??!!

Lego challenge cards have a single task on each one, something for your kiddo (or yourself!) to build out of Legos.  They are a fun brain break for my kiddos after a difficult subject.  Or sometimes we’ll include them in a morning basket.  Or I’ll leave one on their desks so they can start with it.  I have a friend who uses these cards on road trips–genius!

Sometimes we use themed cards, like around Christmas or like this set.  Other sets of ours are more general.

If your kiddo likes them, Pinterest is full of challenge sets!

What Is Included?

You’ll receive 40 brick building cards, 32 have ideas for you and 8 are blank so you and your kiddos can create your own ideas.  {I’d love for you to share with me your ideas!  Comment below, comment over on Facebook, or tag me on Instagram!}

There are two sets of cards:

  • an inspiration word pack that allows kids to come up with their own interpretation of that word and bring it to life {unity, heartbreak….}
  • a scene pack where students are given an item or scene to create {medal stand, a new mascot….}

Use them as separate sets or mix them up!
