Printable Christmas Lego Challenges for Kids (FREE!)

Like many parents, Legos have been a staple in our home for years. We started with the now-retired Quattro blocks back in 2005. In various forms, they’ve been a constant ever since.

When I first heard about Lego challenges, it came at a time when two of the kiddos had a waning interest in Legos. Christmas Lego challenge cards brought back a renewed love. Every year since then — even with older kids & teens — they’re a much-anticipated favorite.

Whether you have kids still in the thick of Legos or you need a boredom buster or a great way to add some Christmas fun, Christmas Lego challenge cards are an easy addition to your home.

What are Lego challenge cards?

If you have spent any time on Pinterest, you’ve probably come across these. However, for the uninitiated, Lego challenge cards give the builder an open-ended task to create with just their Lego bricks. Sometimes you’ll find Lego challenges for specific builds, but I prefer building prompts. I want kids to use Legos to create whatever their little creative minds can imagine.

We’ve used them in various ways over the years, including…

• In our morning basket as a task for fidgety hands.
• Leaving a task on their desk at lunchtime, so they have something to do as you gather back in the afternoon.
• Using them as a ‘brain break’ after a difficult subject.
• Right before bedtime or at the breakfast table.
• A small box of building bricks + challenge cards make a great on-the-go item.

Christmas Lego Challenge Ideas

For the 25 days leading up to our Christmas break, I created these Christmas themed Lego challenges.  For durability, I print our challenges on card stock and/or laminate them.

None of these cards require any fancy pieces & they certainly don’t need to be perfectly colored. These are meant to be simple for you & simple for them.
