Amazon’s Prime Video is loaded with goodies this month. As I’ve paid attention to the new streaming shows for the last year, I’ve come to appreciate how many older movies Amazon brings each month. It’s fun to watch older classics with my teens, especially if I’ve never seen it before either. They’re always amused by black & white movies, especially.

New on Netflix
- Black Hawk Down (Don’t miss last month’s Surviving Black Hawk Down show.)
- Pride & Prejudice (2005 book adaptation)
- American Manhunt: Osama bin Laden (a docu-series)
Coming to Prime Video
- A Bridge Too Far (WW2)
- Moby Dick (2011 TV series)
- Rescue Dawn (Based on a true story, a US Fighter pilot’s survival after being shot down during the Vietnam War.)
- 1984
- Popular Mechanics for Kids (one of my kids’ favorite shows!)
- Dances with Wolves
New on Disney+
- Malawi Wildlife Rescue
- Life Below Zero (Season 23)
- Animals, They’re Just Like Us!
- Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Road Trip
What to Watch on PBS/PBS Passport
My boys are SO ridiculously excited for the new PBS/BBC season of Walking with Dinosaurs coming out later in 2025. The original series was on near-constant replay in our homes when they were still preschool/toddler ages (and many times since!). I’m not a dinosaur person, but it does look pretty cool.
Also, in 2025, the animated series Weather Hunters, starring Al Roker, looks pretty fun! And I can’t wait for the new Ken Burns film, The American Revolution.
Looking at what is ahead on PBS this year reminds me why I think PBS streaming is a hidden gem in the homeschool world.
