11 Disney Cookie Recipes: Add A Sprinkle of Mickey Magic to Christmas
One of the bright spots in 2020? Many Disney cookie recipes were released! Add these to your Christmas season or anytime.
From around the world & the World, these cookie recipes will make a great addition to your Christmas trays. And it makes a perfect opportunity to add some cookie-learning fun to your homeschool days.
But First, History
By far, history is my favorite non-math subject. When I was in school? Not so much. But as a homeschool parent with a fantastic curriculum (thank you, Story of the World), I came to love it.
And the history of Walt Disney World is one of my favorite parts of Disney, too. I love finding out how quirks came to be, how rides have evolved, and, in some cases, how they brought actual history into the parks.
The beloved Disney historian, Jim Korkis, has a great article about the history of the Main Street Confectionary. My other favorite Disney history resource is Lou over at WDW Radio — a brief history of the Main Street Bakery.
(Side note, Jim Korkis’s books are fantastic & quite readable at a middle-school level.)
Just a Spoonful of Sugar
Buttery, salty smells of popcorn. The sweet smells as you turn the roundabout towards Main Street. That whiff of bromine-filled air as you enter the damp, (glorious) cool inside of Pirates of the Caribbean. The burning library books in Spaceship Earth. (Thank the Phonecians you can read this!)
These are the smells of Walt Disney World.
What would Disney be without Smellitizers, the machines Disney uses to diffuse those glorious scents?
But how do they work? And why do scents create such powerful memories? Learn about the science of Smellitizers.
Cast Member Magic
Have you found this fantastic Disneyland series? After stumbling on it years ago, we have used it many times in our Disney Days. These short videos give a great behind-the-scenes look at all the roles that produce Disney magic.
